Just Bought RustDesk Pro? Here is Your Infrastructure Roadmap

Unlock the full potential of your Pro license. Learn how to map out the servers you need to support your centralized management console.

Just Bought RustDesk Pro? Here is Your Infrastructure Roadmap

Congratulations on upgrading to RustDesk Pro! You now have access to the Web Console, LDAP integration, OIDC, and professional logs.

But you’ve probably noticed something: the license didn’t come with a “Download Server” button that does everything for you. You still need to build the foundation. Here is your roadmap to a successful Pro deployment.

Phase 1: The OS Choice

While RustDesk runs on anything, we strongly recommend Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Debian 12. Why? Because most of the automation scripts and community documentation are built for these distributions.

Phase 2: DNS and SSL

Unlike the OSS version, the Pro version includes a Web Console. You don’t want to type an IP address every time.

  1. Map a subdomain (e.g., remote.yourcompany.com) to your server IP.
  2. Use Let’s Encrypt to get an SSL certificate. The Pro console requires HTTPS for many of its advanced features.

Phase 3: Opening the “Pro” Ports

In addition to the standard 21115-21119 ports, your Pro server needs:

  • Port 21114 (TCP): For the Web Console and API.
  • Port 443 (TCP): Recommended for your reverse proxy (Nginx).

Phase 4: Setting up Identity

This is the “killer feature” of Pro.

  • LDAP/OIDC: Connect your server to your existing Azure AD or Google Workspace.
  • Centralized Key Management: You can now rotate your server key without visiting every client machine manually.

The Shortest Path

We know you bought the license to save time and work better, not to spend three days learning Linux sysadmin skills.

DeployRD was built exactly for this moment: to turn your Pro license into a fully operational IT infrastructure in less than 5 minutes.
